…because everyone deserves a safe space in which they feel SEEN & HEARD.

Dr. Rachana Ali, Psy.D.

Online Therapy in California | Licensed Clinical Psychologist | PSY35068

Hello and WELCOME! I'm Dr. Rachana Ali, a licensed clinical psychologist. I built this practice because I believe everyone deserves therapy where they feel fully seen and heard.

I work with teens (15+), young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, identity, and motherhood. I warmly welcome people from all backgrounds to my space. Given my own cultural background, I specialize in providing culturally sensitive care, and work closely with South Asians, Indians, and individuals from immigrant backgrounds.

All sessions are offered via secure telehealth, available anywhere in California. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can connect before you commit to anything.

My Specialities

  • Anxiety Therapy

I provide therapy for anxiety that goes deeper than breathing exercises. I help you built insight around the root of your anxiety, learn how to harness it, and finally feel at home in your own mind.

  • Self-Esteem Therapy | Guilt and Shame

Low self-esteem, guilt, and shame often show up as people-pleasing, perfectionism, difficulty setting boundaries, chronic self-criticism, and the quiet belief that other people's needs always matter more than yours. I can help you change your relationship with that voice.

  • Therapy for Mothers | Maternal Mental Health

Motherhood changes everything. Your body. Your sleep. Your sense of self. Your relationships. The way you move through the world. If you're struggling — whether you're pregnant, newly postpartum, or years into motherhood and still feeling like you've lost a piece of yourself — I am here for you. You deserve support from someone who actually understands.

  • Young Adults Therapy

Being a young adult can be challenging. Discovering who you are and growing into yourself is brave work. You don’t have to do it alone.

  • Therapy for South Asian Indians | Indian Diaspora | Indo-Fijians

In my practice, you don't have to translate yourself. You don't have to explain why you can't just "talk to your family" about it. You don't have to justify why setting boundaries feels impossible, why the pressure to achieve never turns off, or why you carry guilt about things that wouldn't even register as problems to someone who didn't grow up the way you did.

Every relationship has seasons. There are seasons of closeness and seasons of distance. Whether you and your partner are in a difficult season right now or simply want to strengthen your relationship’s foundation or improve connection, couples therapy can help.

  • I keep it real with you so you can feel safe with me - that's when the work begins.

What working with Dr. Rachana Ali looks like

  • In order for therapy to be effective, it is important that you feel genuinely connected to your psychotherapist. I offer a free consultation, during which you may share with me your struggles, ask questions, and determine if we feel like a good fit. I will do the same, as your wellbeing comes first.

  • Most people want to know if they will feel safe, understood, and supported by their therapist. I value YOUR experience. I tailor all sessions to benefit you, to hear and understand your story, and to help you reach where you want to be. I’ll be by your side.

  • I value authenticity, openness, and curiosity. If you want to read more about who I am, please click here.

  • My approach to the work is first and foremost grounded in building authentic connections with those I work with. Beyond that, I am trained in psychodynamic therapy, attachment therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I seamlessly weave these therapies together to understand your history, where you have been, where you are now, and explore how you envision your life to be. You can read more about my approach to therapy here.

  • Weekly therapy appointments are the most effective evidence-based frequency, and I begin the work on a once-per-week cadence. Each appointment is a standard 50-minute session. As we work together, we can explore other frequencies if that will offer greater support. Learn more about the types of therapy I offer here.
